Dear Passengers,
On behalf of the Crew of Gulf Executive Aviation, I would like to welcome you aboard the website of GEA, your Flying Carpet throughout the Middle East and beyond. The heat has not only arrived weather wise. Aircraft operators from all over the world, but especially from the Middle East, have announced huge numbers of aircraft orders at the recent Paris Air Show. Alex de Vos
While some of the aviation experts predict a further growth in air traffic and a subsequent further increase in aircraft orders, a few also believe that the sustainable peak has been reached. This might very well be the truth for the region. Although many local airports are gearing up to become global hubs, facilitating air traffic between Europe and the Far East, there is only so much traffic flow that can be handled at any one time. And I am not only talking about aircraft movements. Imagine a few Airbus 380s arriving with a full passenger load at the same airport at the same time. The burden on airport logistics companies and government institutions will be tremendous.

A propos government institutions: the Bahrain Civil Aviation Authorities already feel the heat more than they would like. With the recent withdrawal of Oman from Gulf Air, all aircraft, equipment and personnel need to be transferred from the Omani aviation regulations to the Bahraini ones. The Bahraini CAA has therefore deferred most non - Gulf Air related tasks to 2008 effectively stopping all new business at Bahrain’s only civil airport. With the fast pace other Arab airports are moving forward, this move could very well prove to be a two-sided sword for Gulf Air. The carrier is already struggling to keep its niche in the Middle Eastern market. The least they need right now is another weak asset prone to hostile take-overs.
GEA itself has had a turbulent time. Obviously affected by the Bahraini CAA decision, we have however been able to alter our course and steer clear of most heavy turbulences leaving us the driving force behind an exciting Middle Eastern aviation plan. A plan, once implemented, that will bring the Middle East straight to the place where it belongs in aviation: right to the top!
We have never forgotten our roots though. Dealing in large scale projects on a daily basis, we realize that any venture starts at humble beginnings. We are therefore proud to announce that we are heavily involved in flight crew training these days. Whenever I am talking to prospective pilots during seminars, air shows, or meetings I see their deep love for the profession. It is the same attitude we at GEA were displaying when we started our careers in aviation and we still continue to do so! For us, there is nothing better than what we do and with our love for aviation; we just go that extra mile for you. Try us!
And now, sit back, relax and enjoy the flight on the Flying Carpet. I hope to have the pleasure to welcome you aboard again soon.
